Dutch-Based Ecostream Selects West Sacramento as its National Headquarters

The Sacramento Area Commerce and Trade Organization (SACTO) announced today that Ecostream has chosen West Sacramento for its first American location and U.S. Headquarters. The office will be located at 2945 Ramco Street, and will be led by newly appointed CEO, Faried Muscati, formerly with Ecostream in Cologne, Germany. The office will immediately be staffed with 15 engineering, marketing and management positions.

Ecostream is a subsidiary of Econcern, a Dutch-based privately-funded holding company with a mission of ensuring “a sustainable energy supply for everyone”. Ecostream specializes in delivering ready-to-use sustainable energy systems, with a focus on solar generation. The three other subsidiaries, operating on several continents, are Ecofys, Evelop and Ecoventures, providing service, products and investment capital to fulfill
its mission. Parent company Econcern, with 500professionals in locations around the world, is one of Europe’s 500 fastest growing companies.

Mr. Muscati referenced the following features within the Sacramento Region that made it highly desirable for this location: the Sacramento Region is a “hot spot” for the California solar market; great infrastructure and accessibility; moderate cost structure; it’s not over-crowded; and great access to state policy-makers.

The Sacramento Region is quickly becoming a hub for sustainable energy research, policy-development and commerce as evidenced by several announcements in recent months, most notably Pacific Ethanol, Inc.’s decision to relocate its national headquarters to Sacramento early in January.

“We are very excited about Ecostream’s decision to launch its national operations in the Sacramento Region,” stated Jeff Koewler, SACTO Chair. “The region has truly become a world-class location for renewable energy companies, and we are dedicating resources to continue to develop this cluster of industries and assist firms such as Ecostream.”

“Ecostream’s choice of West Sacramento for its U.S. headquarters further solidifies the region’s emerging prominence as a center for clean energy and green technology research, development and commerce,” stated West Sacramento Mayor, Christopher Cabaldon. “The regional efforts defined by Partnership for Prosperity in the area of clean energy/green technology are bearing tremendous results.”

SACTO would like to thank the City of West Sacramento, Daron Whittle from NAI/BT Commercial, Skip Jahn from Jackson-Jahn Properties, Josh Guthrie and Brian Zscheile from Bank of America and several others for their support and assistance to Ecostream.
